Author's note:

Sift was a comic book I started in 2010 during my freshman year at college, and kept working on it until 2018. I was fresh out of high-school, and dealing with a resentment fostered by my experiences in a "Christian" school/environment. Sift was created during a time of hatred, bitterness, and personal growth in my life. I do not have the same extreme, two-dimensional views I expressed in these pages; especially not about abortion (chapter 1).
I do not have plans to finish this story right now, but I have used elements as inspiration for Cinder. If nothing else, I learned how to navigate difficult feelings with my art. I never printed this comic or shared it with many people other than a few close friends. This was where I first experimented with the idea of having the cover of the comic be the last panels/page of the comic, which I have adopted for Cinder since issue 2. I also experimented with a non-traditional panel layout which is also use in Cinder.
I never finished chapter II of Sift. Here it is in its incomplete state.
